Hon. Joseph Kawuki, the Minister for Local Government and Foreign Affairs, paid a heartfelt tribute to the late Omuk. Fredrick Lukabwe, who served as the Chairman of the Luganda Language Society. Minister Kawuki commemorated Lukabwe's outstanding contributions to the promotion of the Luganda language, culture, traditions, and customs during a memorial service held at the late chairman's residence in Kisenyi, Mengo.

Minister Kawuki underscored Lukabwe's enthusiastic efforts, emphasizing that his dedication had played a pivotal role in the ongoing endeavour to restore Buganda to its historical and cultural prominence. Lukabwe's advocacy for the Luganda language and his commitment to preserving the essence of Buganda were acknowledged as invaluable in contributing to the region's identity.

Praising Lukabwe for his resilience, Minister Kawuki noted that the late chairman refused to be defined by his disability, choosing instead to leverage his unique abilities to gain prominence and make significant contributions to the development of Buganda, Uganda, and the church.

The tribute took place at the Lukabwe family home in Kisenyi, Mengo, following a church service attended by close relatives and friends.

To honor Omuk. Fredrick Lukabwe, a prayer service is scheduled at Namirembe today at 3 pm. The final farewell and burial ceremony will be held on Friday at Namulonge-Kiwenda.
