Katikkiro Charles Mayiga has emphasized that introduction ceremonies (okwanjula) are cultural and traditional events meant to strengthen clans and heritage.

He has urged parents not to expect financial gain from these ceremonies to the extent of hindering their children from marrying in the proper manner.

He made these remarks at Kiteezi during the introduction ceremony of Proscovia Nakawuka, daughter of lawyer Francis Buwuule, who introduced her fiancé Dennis Kaweesi.

Katikkiro praised those who organized the event for preserving its dignity.

He also reiterated his condemnation of those who commercialize such events, emphasizing that while it is important to entertain guests at the function, it should not be done in a way that disrespects cultural norms.
