The Katikkiro with the royal family at the memorial services of the late Kezironi Mukasa
The Katikkiro urged the people of Buganda to avoid divisions as these hinder development in the family.
This request was made by the Katikkiro at Kyaggwe in the village of Namina during a memorial service in remembrance of the deceased, Kezironi Mukasa and Wycliffe Kasozi Mukasa.
He said that division prevents many households from developing, and in disagreements, it becomes difficult to overcome challenges.
He urged the family of Kezironi Mukasa to stay united, support each other, and communicate effectively, so they can be productive and uphold the legacy of the deceased.
He encouraged the people of Kyaggwe not to be misled by words that weaken them, such as 'children are the responsibility of the government.' Instead, they should take responsibility as parents, care for their children by providing school supplies, including books, food, and shoes, and stop thinking that children belong to the government.
On behalf of Kezironi Mukasa's household, Mr. Hope Mukasa promised to continue carrying the torch his father lit, especially by not neglecting their clan and by empowering all those his father influenced to improve their lives.
The Archdeacon of Ngogwe, Venerable Canon Steven Kironde, led the praise of the Creator at Kirijja-Butooke church, advising the faithful to be beneficial in their families, villages, and country by doing what benefits others.
Miss Sarah Kagere and her husband, Mr. Oweeko Bbaale Mugera, attended the ceremony.
