The Katikkiro, after being counted with UBOS staff
The Katikkiro of Buganda embraced the census program and actively participated in it.
The in charge of the national census program and his team in Wakiso District visited Katikkiro's home in Lweza early in the morning. They counted him along with all his family members, with the team being led by Geoffrey Kirabira, Nakiboneka Josephine, and Arafat Kibirango.
He was asked various questions and emphasised their importance, stating that the government needs this information to plan for its people effectively. He urged everyone to participate in the census. However, he requested that politics be kept out of the census program, as it could be distracted from its purpose.
Additionally, he requested that the Uganda Bureau of Statistics consider writing the questionnaires in indigenous languages to ensure better understanding among the people.
