Katikkiro congratulated Jantuyo Juma, a kickboxing champion.
The Prime Minister met with the recent World All Fights System Organization Kickboxing belt winner, Jantuyo Juma. Jantuyo competes for Powerflex Kickboxing Academy and defeated Ivan Koreta from Pentagon Kickboxing Academy on December 31st of last year at Bugiri Medical Grounds. Jantuyo was accompanied by his coaches, Prince Walugembe Latif, and Mujaasi Farouk.
Addressing these athletes, the Prime Minister highlighted six benefits of sports:
- Discovering talents
- Games are fun and relaxing.
- Sports are a career for many.
- Sports promote tourism.
- Sport is a source of revenue for the Government.
- Sports bring people together.
Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga has urged the youth not to sit back but to discover their talents and use them to change their lives, as sports has become a viable career.
“A lot of people are talented, but we don’t know. Young people should not sit back but try to discover their talents,” said Katikkiro Mayiga.
Hon. Ssaalongo Sserwanga Robert
The Minister of Youth, Sports, and Arts, Hon Ssaalongo Sserwanga Robert, stated that the King's call to the youth to take action reflects their enthusiasm because winning the belt requires enthusiasm and determination. He urged the youth of Buganda not to sit back but to strive to develop their talents to achieve success for the benefit of their communities and the country.
Juma Jantuyo thanked all those who helped him achieve this victory and promised to continue his sports efforts.
