The Katikkiro welcomes young coffee Farmer Jawaduh into his office
The Katikkiro met Jawaduh Mayiga, a young coffee farmer who cultivates half an acre in the Nampunge area of Kakiri, Wakiso District. During his visit to the Katikkiro's office in Bulange, Jawaduh briefed him on how he became involved in the coffee farming campaign.
While welcoming him, the Katikkiro stated that the most valuable and important task is preparing children by showing them different paths and ways they can become self-sufficient.
The Katikkiro noted that at the age of 11, Jawaduh Mayiga is already planting coffee in the Nampunge areas of Busiro. He expressed gratitude to Jawaduh's parents for providing him with land and supporting him in his passion while he continued his studies.
"A parent's love for their children is not about spoiling them but about preparing them by teaching skills that will help them in life. Children should be self-sufficient and capable of standing on their own. When many families lose important members, they start to falter, but if children are taught to work, they can take care of themselves."
"Therefore, it is crucial to prepare your children, as it is the most important thing for their future," the Katikkiro emphasised.
He thanked Jawaduh's parents for enabling him to achieve something significant at such a young age.

He warned parents who believe that showing more love by not guiding their children is beneficial, emphasising that parents should remain responsible by teaching their children valuable skills. This includes instilling moral values, educating them about humanity, sending them to school, and teaching them how to work.
He hopes that young children will understand that through coffee farming, they can gain self-esteem and achieve financial success.
Mayiga Jawaduh asked the Katikkiro to entrust him with the responsibility of spreading the gospel of Coffee farming among young children in Uganda and abroad. He has requested the kingdom's support and land to expand his vision of becoming a successful coffee farmer.
Jawaduh thanked his parents for giving him land where he conducts his work.
During this visit, Jawaduh was accompanied by his mother, along with prominent coffee farmers from Busiro, including members of a joint organisation called the Community Farmers Network.
Jawaduh Mayiga is a student in class six (P6) at KY Primary School in Masaka.
