The Katikkiro arrives at Mengo Palace, where the exhibition is being held
The Katikkiro of Buganda, Charles Peter Mayiga, has officially opened the Buganda Ggaggadde 2024 exhibition at Lubiri in Mengo.
He encouraged people to explore various cultural and historical sites in Buganda and Uganda, emphasising that it's unfortunate for someone to be unfamiliar with nearby sites while boasting about foreign landmarks.
In his opening speech, the Katikkiro thanked all participants, including exhibitors and visitors, for their involvement in the event.
He noted that while opportunities don't speak and don't last forever, urging attendees to learn as much as possible from the exhibition and apply the knowledge to improve their lives.

The Minister of Culture and and Traditional Affairs, Oweek. Dr. Anthony Wamala, praised the exhibition's organisation, highlighting that it brings together a diverse range of items in one place, offering people a unique opportunity to see and learn a lot in a short time.
He encouraged the public to visit the exhibition to gain valuable insights.
The exhibition began on Friday, August 16th, and will run for 10 days, concluding on Sunday, August 25th, 2024.
