Katikkiro addressing the press at Entebbe International Airport before departing for London
Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga is headed to the United Kingdom to launch the first-ever Buganda Convention in Europe, titled "Buganda Bumu European Convention."
This three-day event will be held in London on the 13th, 14th, and 15th of this month. The Katikkiro will be accompanied by other ministers and dignitaries from the Kingdom.
Speaking to the press before his departure, Katikkiro Mayiga explained that the convention aims to connect with the people of Buganda living abroad, informing them about the latest developments in the Kingdom and encouraging mutual engagement.
It will also provide an opportunity for those living abroad to communicate their concerns and interests directly to the Kingdom’s leadership.
He added that the convention will further promote the Five Key Development Agendas of Buganda among its European community, ensuring that the diaspora is aligned with those in Buganda, especially in efforts to restore the Kingdom's prominence.

Katikkiro noted that a similar convention held in America strengthened unity among the Baganda living there, who are now highly engaged in the affairs of the Kingdom.
The Buganda Convention in Europe will be a travelling event, held in different European cities, with London in the UK being the inaugural host this year.
