The Katikkiro in the middle with the newly appointed county chiefs
The meeting with the chiefs and their deputies was held at Bulange in Mengo.
The Katikkiro of the Buganda Kingdom, Charles Peter Mayiga, has encouraged the newly elected chiefs of Buganda to work hard and follow the Kingdom's guidelines. He praised them for their contributions to the Kingdom's development.
The Katikkiro also briefed the chiefs and their deputies on managing their duties ethically and wished them success during their term of office.
He guided the new chiefs on their responsibilities, which are defined by the five Constitutional Principles of the Buganda kingdom.
Later, the Minister of Local Government and Foreign Affairs, Oweek Joseph Kawuki, met with the chiefs and briefed them on how to conduct their duties. They were given documents to assist them.
The Katikkiro urged the new Chiefs and their Deputies to fulfil their duties by always following the King's guidelines and also encouraged them to follow the three-tier leadership guidelines of Buganda kingdom:
The Five Constitutional Principles.
The 5-year Royal Development Plan.
The New Age Approach.
