Katikkiro welcoming the newly wed couple
Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga urged couples to always invest in their marriages by communicating and respecting each other to enjoy and cherish their union.
Owek. Mayiga shared these thoughts in a meeting with journalist Michael Matovu from BBS Television and CBS FM, and his wife, Nabachwa Vivian Birimuye, who were recently wed at Kitovu Cathedral in Buddu.
Katikkiro Mayiga emphasised that marriage is the first institution in a person's life and plays a crucial role in raising children to be healthy, hardworking, mindful of others, and responsible.
He encouraged the couples to maintain a good reputation, noting that Mr. Birimuye is a dedicated worker for the kingdom and a well-known journalist.
He congratulated them on their decision and advised them to consider their marriage seriously, as it is the foundation of a family. He emphasised that their marriage should focus on love, communication, and togetherness.
Katikkiro stated that for Buganda to thrive, it starts with the upbringing of children, which begins in the home. In a stable family, children are instilled with values and responsibilities that contribute to the nation's development.
