Buganda’s Prime Minister, Charles Peter Mayiga, visited the Madhvani Group company located in Kakira.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Mayur Madhvani, Managing Director of Madhvani Group, a company engaged in producing sugar, alcohol, electricity, fertilisers, and other products.
The Buganda Kingdom is focused on enhancing the welfare of its people by strengthening partnerships with various organisations and sectors.
During the visit, the Prime Minister toured the company’s various operations, including sugar production, electricity generation, and educational initiatives, all aimed at improving people’s lives and creating jobs.

Katikkiro Mayiga expressed appreciation for Madhvani’s contribution to the livelihood of ordinary citizens through job creation, including agricultural projects like sugarcane farming in Kayunga and the establishment of schools.
He emphasised that national growth is driven by companies that positively impact the common person.
While addressing the importance of Buganda’s collaboration with private enterprises, the Prime Minister noted, "For any nation to develop and achieve global growth, it must have investors and industrialists, but those who prioritise benefiting the common man should come first."
Katikkiro was taken through a comprehensive tour of Madhvani’s operations, which included sugar production, electricity generation, fertilisers, oils, alcohol production, and the establishment of schools, all contributing to improving lives and creating job opportunities for the community.
