Owek. Kazibwe Kitooke addressing the media about Buganda's exclusion from the Uganda map and clarifying the Kingdom's stance on the issue
The Buganda Kingdom, through its Minister of Information, Owek. Israel Kazibwe Kitooke, has addressed the issue of Buganda being excluded from the map of Uganda and assured that no one can erase Buganda from a united Uganda.
Owek. Kazibwe delivered this message to journalists at Bulange, Mengo, on Monday following the release of new maps that do not include Buganda.
He explained that this matter has been addressed before, and during his 63rd birthday celebrations, the Kabaka warned those involved, saying they were acting wrongly. The Kabaka also urged the people of Buganda to be vigilant against those trying to remove Buganda from the map.

Map of Buganda
The Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS), responsible for census data, admitted to the Buganda Kingdom that they had mistakenly released the map. When they met with the Katikkiro, Charles Peter Mayiga, they apologized and promised to correct the error.
However, more maps have recently surfaced without Buganda, raising further concerns. Owek. Kazibwe claims that those promoting such maps intend to diminish Buganda's relevance and disrupt the achievements that have elevated Buganda.
Minister Kazibwe assured the people of Buganda that no one can erase Buganda from the map or eliminate its presence, emphasizing that history shows Buganda's pivotal role in the formation of a united Uganda.
