The Buganda Kingdom has congratulated Buddo SS for reaching the milestone of 25 years in the field of music.
In a message delivered by the Second Deputy Prime Minister, Owek. Robert Waggwa Nsibirwa, he praised Buddo for their work in nurturing children's talents, particularly through music, and commended their efforts in promoting the Luganda language through songs.
He also thanked the school leadership for enhancing the lives of their students, emphasising that the Buganda Kingdom is proud of schools that go beyond classroom education to develop students in other areas, including talent cultivation.
Buddo SS is well known for its songs, particularly those that praise the Kabaka and the Buganda Kingdom. To mark this 25th anniversary, they organised a celebration, highlighting the journey since they began singing in 1999.
Some of the key figures involved in the school's 25-year journey, including the Headteacher, Mr. Lawrence Muwonge, and the songwriter, Paul Ssaka, along with teachers and alumni, were recognized and awarded medals for their contributions.
The event was attended by other prominent figures from Buganda, including Owek. Vincent Matovu Ssekiboobo and Owek. Rashid Lukwago, among others, all of whom expressed their joy at Buddo SS's role in promoting Buganda's culture and fostering unity among youth from different schools.
