Katikkiro with other servants of the kingdom exercising
The Kingdom joins the rest of the globe in celebrating world Heart Day.
Servants from various kingdom organisations, led by the Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga, participated in physical exercises to commemorate World Heart Day.
The CEO of the Health Heart Foundation delivered the keynote address. According to Oweek Rita Namyalo, the following factors contribute to heart disease: a lack of exercise, smoking, a lack of a good diet, a lack of "pressure" testing, the abuse of blood pressure drugs, and excessive stress.
The Prime Minister urged the Servants that exercise is not a fashion and that they should do it on a regular basis to get the benefits.
He exhorted them to avoid eating meat and consuming too much food, as they induce obesity and other ailments, and to avoid sweets if at all feasible.
The Minister of Human Development and Queen's Office Affairs, Oweek Clotilda Nakate Kikomeko, has urged Servants to renew their bodies through exercise and avoid prolonged sitting which causes blood clots.
